Build preparation tools
The Z-BuildPrep is a set of software libraries and tools designed to accelerate the development of 3D Printing build preparation workflow. The Z-BuildPrep libraries are designed to cover various aspects of the pre-print process with functionality such as models loading, mesh diagnostics and repair, support structures generation, nesting, mesh split and merge and many more.
Main Features
- Viewer – high performance interactive and extendable 3D data viewer capable of displaying multi-giga bytes models and complex tray arrangements.
- Mesh diagnostics - check any mesh for holes, non-manifold/ naked edges and self-intersections.
- Automatic mesh repair - fix inversions, fill holes, unify, extrude surfaces and stitch shells.
- DLP support structures – state of the art support structures generator with fully parametric control over the result. Support different types of structures such as beams and trees.
- OPF support structures–support structures generator for SLA and Powder-Bed 3D printers using optimized path finding algorithm that saves material and simplify post processing.
- Setter support - Setter supports are optimized for Metal Binder Jetting printers. The Setters are detached vertically without causing any damage to the printed part.
- Thickness analysis – generate a heatmap according to local thickness and provide warnings for areas violating design rules.
- Nesting – advanced 2D and 3D nesting with optimization for both position and rotation for each part.
- Mesh cutting - cut meshes with a planar surface or arbitrary path (“polyline”).
- Split and merge – split a mesh into connected component and join multiple meshes together.
- Mesh hollowing – generate a hollow object with a given wall thickness.
- Lattice infill generator – generate a self-supporting parametric lattice structure inside a given mesh (minimize mass while maximizing stiffness).
